Conventional and proven 1/12 platform
Starting with a conventional yet proven 1:12 platform, legendary RC designer and XRAY’s award-winning Chief Designer Ing. Hudy Juraj made simple yet smart changes to all aspects of the car… incorporating well thought-out details and unmatched precision of all small details.


Brushless optimized
The XII has a weight balance that is optimized when using brushless motors, though brushed motors are easily accommodated in the rear pod with a bit of shimming to compensate for their lighter weight.


Chassis
CNC-machined chassis is custom-manufactured from 2.0mm high-grade graphite material with a specially-designed compound for carpet racing and asphalt racing. For extra-high grip carpet tracks, an optional stiff chassis will be available. Chassis layout is optimally designed to provide proper stiffness for excellent handling, while being flexible enough to generate best grip and traction. The super-narrow T-bar system chassis design and layout centralizes all weight along the centerline.

Premium Composite Parts
All composite parts are manufactured by XRAY using premium self-developed composite mixtures which guarantee appropriate flex of the suspension parts, while being hard enough to withstand hard impacts.


Front Suspension
Strong, simple, yet refined front suspension made from strong lightweight self-developed composite material. Reactive caster settings available using 2.5°, 5.0° or 7.5° eccentric bushings. Tiny yet strong HUDY Spring Steel™ pivotballs ensure smooth, bind-free operation. Fast & easy adjustment of front caster, track-width, roll center and ride height via included shims and clips.



Steering
Lightweight composite servo mounts with two different positions allow fitment of most popular micro and mid-size steering servos, and a tiny yet robust servo saver protects the servo from impact damage. Easy Ackermann adjustment is made via shims mounted below steering block pivotballs.




Adjustable Reactive Caster
Reactive caster is easily adjustable by using easy-to-change eccentric bushings of 2.5°, 5.0° or 7.5° (included). Reactive caster is used to adjust the amount of caster change when the front end of the car is compressing (diving) or decompressing (rising).



Front Brace
XRAY offers a choice of front braces to fine-tune the handling of your XII. A graphite front upper brace is provided as standard, with an aluminum adjustable front brace being available as an option.




Adjustable Ride Height
Ride height is easily adjustable using included front shims and eccentric rear axle bushings, as well as adjustable shock preload for middle ride height adjustment.


Kingpins
Super-smooth, hardened steel kingpins provide the foundation for the front suspension.


Wheel Axles
Ultra-precise wheel axles CNC-machined from premium HUDY Spring Steel™ are additionally hardened and hand ground for precision fitment.


Precision Pivot Balls
High-precision, HUDY Spring Steel™ pivot balls ensure super-fine movement of the front suspension.


Turnbuckles
Front upper 3mm adjustable HUDY Spring Steel™ camber turnbuckles are lightweight yet can withstand hard impacts, with precision threading to ensure fine camber adjustment. Steering linkages are made from adjustable 4mm turnbuckles manufactured from lightweight aluminum.



Optional Tweak-free Servo Mount
Optional Tweak-free Servo Mount Plate is available to ensure that the steering servo is mounted independently of the chassis and will not produce any unwanted chassis tweak. The set centrally mounts along the centerline of the chassis with the servo mounted independently on aluminum stands on the graphite servo mount plate. The Tweak-Free Servo Mount system is available in two sizes for either micro or mid-size servos.


Antenna Mount
A tiny lightweight antenna mount secures the lightweight yet strong molded fiberglass rollover antenna.



Battery Holder
Tiny, ultra-flat composite battery holders keep batteries secure and in place, with multiple front/rear placement options available for adjusting chassis weight balance.


Micro Shock Absorber
New XRAY micro shock has a scaled-down design from it’s “big brother” counterpart in XRAY’s successful T2 touring car platform. The fully-adjustable shock features an aluminum shock body that is hard-anodized for ultra durability. The fine-threaded shock body allows for quick and easy shock spring preload adjustment. Adjustable T-bar setscrews let you adjust for adjusting chassis tweak.



T-bar mounting
Two unique T-bar mounting methods allow for two different settings:
o Club race setting – direct mounting of T-bar to chassis without pivotballs gives limited adjustment possibilities (recommended for beginner drivers)
o Pro race setting – pivotball mounting of T-bar to chassis for more advanced adjustment possibilities (recommended for advanced drivers)

The T-bar features two different setscrew positions:
• FRONT HOLES: Effectively lengthens the T-bar, making it easier to drive and smoother but less responsive to driver input
• REAR HOLES: Effectively shortens the T-bar, making it more responsive to driver input.


1-piece Friction Plate Mounting
Special 1-piece aluminum damper pad holder is mounted independently from the rear body mount to ensure independent and equal left-right movement of the rear pod. Spring-loaded upper and lower friction plates provide addition control of rear pod movement; grease-retaining grooves in the plates ensure equal and consistent friction characteristics.


Rear Pod
The compact and ultra-lightweight rear pod is constructed from high-strength aluminum bulkheads, a rear aluminum brace, and thin but strong high-grade graphite plates. Side bulkheads are CNC-machined from premium extra-hard Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum, additionally black coated for long life and stylish look. Strategic machining of the rear bulkheads reduces weight to a minimum while retaining strength. The smart pod design allows for super-easy motor top access, accommodating brushed or brushless motors. Eccentric composite bushings are included for ultra-fine rear ride height adjustment. Spring-loaded upper and lower damper pads provide addition control of rear pod movement, and grease-retaining grooves in the damper pads ensure equal and consistent friction characteristics.


Alu bulkheads
Rear pod bulkheads are CNC-machined from premium extra-hard Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum, additionally black coated for long life and stylish look. The bulkheads are strategically machined to reduce weight to minimum while retaining strength.



Super-easy Motor Access
The open top design of the rear pod left-side bulkhead provides super-easy motor top access. The rear pod accommodates either brushed or brushless motors.


Rear Axle
The super-lightweight rear axle made from 1-piece high-grade graphite rod is additionally precision hand ground to eliminate vibration and run-out. New XRAY T2R PRO
Based on the highly successful T2’008 platform, XRAY now presents the improved, refined, and optimized XRAY T2R PRO.

The T2R PRO carries over many of the features from the coveted T2’008 and new T2’009, loading in all of the latest parts and products supporting the car’s high-performance nature to gain a distinct edge in the highly-competitive spectrum of foam- and rubber-tire racing.

Designed for the racer on a budget, the T2R PRO is the best car on the market.


LiPo & Brushless Optimized & Ready
Optimized for racers competing at all the levels of racing — whether it be national, regional, or local club racing — the T2R PRO suits all popular motors and batteries. Whether you use NiMH 5- or 6-cell battery packs or popular LiPo battery packs, the chassis will accommodate them easily. High-performance brushless motors or brushed stock motors fit easily on the motor mount. All modern and popular electronics are easily accommodated.


LiPo Pads
The stock T2R PRO is designed to accommodate popular 24mm-high LiPo packs with the use of special fiberglass LiPo pads that are inserted between the top deck and bulkheads to raise the top deck by 2.3mm.

Due to continuous development of LiPo batteries, XRAY cannot guarantee that all LiPo packs will fit due to the fact that there are currently no sizing rules for LiPo pack dimensions.


Optimized Drivetrain
When it comes to drivetrain performance, everything is optimized and perfect in the T2R PRO; drivetrain ratio, diffs, pulleys, drive shafts, belts, and other components were taken from the new T2’009 to provide the overall highest drivetrain performance.

With the current trend of high development in the electric motor industry, the drivetrain has been optimized to work efficiently with all most popular motors: stock, modified, and brushless motors. As such the T2R PRO comes a front 34T front solid axle, 34T rear ball differential, and large 20T center layshaft pulleys.


New Swiss 7075 T6 Aluminum Drive Shafts
The rotating mass of the drivetrain was reduced and optimized with high-competition performance in mind. The T2R PRO features lightweight front & rear aluminum drive shafts machined from premium Swiss 7075 T6. Optional hard-anodized black-coated alu drive shafts or the legendary robust HUDY Spring Steel™ drive shafts are optionally available.


HUDY Spring Steel™ Drive Axles
For guaranteed reliability, ultra-strong HUDY Spring Steel™ drive axles are used at front and rear to withstand even the most extreme impacts. The drive axles are additionally hand ground for perfect fit.


Lightweight Composite XRAY Solid Axle
Rotating mass is one of the most significant influences on the performance of an RC racecar. From the great successes of the T2’008 and T2’009, the T2R PRO features the unique lightweight composite XRAY Front Solid Axle. The Front Solid Axle has a very stiff structure and ultra-light weight that was achieved by molding the entire solid axle from XRAY’s own self-formulated composite material.

Outdrives are fully exchangeable which allows very easy and comfortable servicing, while the unique drive shaft connection — eliminating the former drive shaft blades — enables direct power transfer to the axle and eliminates play between the drive shaft and outdrives, improving steering precision and increasing overall steering.


Composite XRAY Ball Differential
The T2R PRO features a high-competition, super-smooth rear ball differential molded from strong, lightweight composite material for extra strength and long life. The ball differential features lightened 34T pulleys with special "side click-covers". Internal components include a high-quality balls and shims for smooth operation, and ultra-smooth running.


Ultra-lightweight Aluminum Bulkheads
The ultra-lightweight bulkheads have been carried over from the T2’008 and T2’009 and are a work of engineering art, where luxury meets simplicity and practicality. The bulkheads are CNC-machined from premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum and are strategically machined to provide the lightest possible skeletal support framework for the car. Thanks to the ultra-low platform it was possible to create the lowest, smallest, and lightest bulkheads ever.

The rear bulkheads feature a split design, allowing the rear suspension to be mounted to separate bulkheads while the center layshaft sits on its own super-narrow bulkheads that are positioned closer to the center of the chassis. XRAY’s legendary attention to detail is noticeable in all the precisely chamfered edges. The split design of the bulkheads also enables super-easy access to front and rear differentials and the middle layshaft. Exchanging diffs and spur gear is super quick and easy.

As with previous XRAY cars, both front and rear bulkheads feature integrated belt-tension adjustment through the use of adjustable bearing eccentric holders, eliminating the need for a separate belt tensioner. All ball-bearings are mounted in composite hubs to reduce friction and improve drivetrain efficiency.

XRAY’s attention to the detail and perfection is evident with their TQM (Total Quality Management) approach. Not only are all bulkheads inspected during the production process, but they are also pre-mounted to the chassis by expertly trained staff to verify that the car’s “backbone” has been perfectly manufactured. So when you open the box, you will see and appreciate the beauty.


Fiberglass Chassis & Top Deck
The chassis and top deck feature same design and layout as the T2’009, making both platforms compatible. Both the chassis and top deck are CNC machined from strong yet flexible black fiberglass. The super-narrow and long design gives dependable torsion and flex, reducing unwanted tweak from impacts.


Top Deck Mount
The center top deck mount is used for rubber-tire carpet racing which permits decreased front suspension traction and eliminates front tire overheating, ensuring consistent handling throughout an entire run. The center top deck mount can be easily mounted or removed depending on your particular racing conditions.


Front Bulkhead Reinforcement Legs
The front bulkheads were specially designed to allow adjustment of front chassis flex for different racing conditions. The lower part of the front bulkheads features reinforcement legs which can be easily connected to the chassis (via 2 extra screws) which influences the front flex of the chassis; removing the screws from the reinforcement legs allows additional chassis flex.





Diff Height Adjustment
Both front and rear bulkheads feature independent diff height adjustment. By rotating the diff eccentric holders, the height of the diff can be adjusted by 1mm. Optional eccentric holders with 2mm offset are available.


Kevlar? Drive Belts
The 2-belt 4WD drivetrain concept provides maximum efficiency and highest performance using Kevlar?-reinforced drive belts for ultra-high durability. Narrow (3mm) front and rear drive belts have been specially ground for minimum thickness and flexibility.


Centrally-positioned Layshaft
The middle layshaft is strategically positioned towards the center of the chassis on separate, super-narrow middle layshaft bulkheads positioned along the chassis centerline. The middle drive pulleys are positioned along side of the main spur gear and as such the drivetrain energy is transmitted from the motor through the centrally-positioned spur gear to both middle layshaft pulleys… ensuring maximum balance of the car.


Alu Middle Layshaft
The aluminum layshaft is machined from highest-grade aluminum to minimize rotating weight without compromising strength or integrity. The layshaft is perfectly round with zero runout, eliminating drivetrain vibration and producing a positive balance. Composite pulleys are keyed to the layshaft.


Proven Suspension Geometry
From the narrow arms, through the tiny front and rear suspension blocks, to the small and robust steering blocks… every suspension part has been specially designed and optimized to provide responsive racing characteristics in all racing conditions. Over the years XRAY has successfully gained and utilized extensive suspension geometry knowledge and self-developed suspension stiffness technology, which have been utilized when designing suspension parts. The ultra-lightweight suspension parts are molded from a special composite material that makes the parts very light yet very durable to withstand the rigors of high-performance racing.

The T2R PRO features optimized suspension parts carried over from the T2’008 and T2’009. The arms feature a single optimized shock mounting position and integrated anti-roll bar mounts. The rear arms feature two anti-roll bar mounts for super-fine adjustment of the anti-roll bar.

The T2R PRO features standard hard composite mixture arms (marked “H”). The front suspension arms allow 2mm adjustment of front arm position.


C-hubs
The T2R PRO C-hubs are moulded from medium composite mixture (marked “M”) and feature 4° integrated caster.
Optional 2° and 6° C-hubs are available either in composite or aluminum for ultra-high grip racing conditions.


Rear Uprights
The rear uprights feature built-in 1° toe-in to ensure stability. Two different roll center positions are available on the rear uprights, and more roll center positions can be easily adjusted by adding shims between the upright and the turnbuckle ball-joint.

Small but robust 5x10x4 ball-bearings minimize unsprung weight.

The T2R PRO uprights are moulded from hard hardness (marked “H”) composite material.


Steering Blocks
Small yet robust steering blocks each feature two Ackermann positions, and use small but robust 5x10 ball-bearings to minimize unsprung weight. The steering blocks are moulded from the medium hardness composite material (marked “M”).


XRAY Quick Roll-Centers™
XRAY’s self-developed Quick Roll-Centers™ make setup quick & easy. The front and rear shock towers feature pre-set optimized roll center positions. Using the eccentric aluminum roll center holders you can easily choose one of 4 quick roll-center positions on the front shock tower. The rear shock tower features two extra positions, making a total of 6 different quick roll-center positions. Easy, smart, quick.

The extra positions for Quick Roll-Center™ positions allow the entire rear upper link to be positioned higher for improved cornering speeds in long sweepers on open tracks.


Fiberglass Shock Towers
The super-low front and rear shock towers are CNC-machined from extra thick 3mm fiberglass material to provide maximum strength and long life, and the lower height allows the shocks to be mounted lower thus making the CG lower. The front shock tower was specially machined for ultra-low weight without compromising strength.

The shock towers feature optimized shock mounting positions for XRAY’s short shock absorbers, and the feature different positions for Quick Roll Center™ settings. The all-in-one shock towers are optimized for use with either rubber or foam tires.


Short XRAY Racing Shocks
The T2R PRO features the same race-proven, externally adjustable XRAY racing shocks used on all other T2 cars. The short shock bodies and shock rods were designed for improved suspension lift and lower CG.

The XRAY externally adjustable racing shocks allow quick & easy damping adjustment to up to 4 different damping settings without disassembly. The threaded shock bodies enable easy and fine ride height adjustment. The shocks also feature foam membrane inserts for smoother shock operation. Shock rods are specially hardened to guarantee long life and maximum strength.


Low-CG Touring Car Platform
The ultra-low touring car platform of the T2’008 has been carried over to the T2R PRO to provide the lowest CG ever.


Narrow Chassis
The overall ultra-narrow chassis platform was made possible thanks to ultra-narrow positioning of middle layshaft bulkheads along the centerline of the chassis. All electronics are positioned close to the chassis centerline, improving weight transition during quick direction changes in racing.


XRAY Quick-Saver™
The hugely-successful XRAY Quick-Saver™ has been carried from the T2’008, it being another innovation from the design boards of XRAY’s Engineering Department. Thanks to the fully-adjustable Quick-Saver™, in a matter of seconds you can change the steering characteristics by adjusting the servo saver to one of 5 preset Ackermann positions. The servo saver comes factory pre-built, guaranteeing exceptionally smooth, responsive, and precise steering. The alloy central shaft features a pre-installed strong preload spring.



Adjustable Steering Bell-crank
The adjustable-position steering bell-crank can also used to change the steering Ackermann setting. By turning a pair of composite eccentric bushings in the chassis and top deck, you can move the complete assembly forward or backward. This adjustment is in addition to the five Quick-Saver™ Ackermann positions. The bell-crank is supported by two ball-bearings.


Precision Spur Gears
Precision-molded spur gears are made from XRAY's exclusive secret blend of composite material, allowing the gear to run true and super quiet, yet be robust enough to handle low-wind modified motors or brushless motors. The spur gears are strategically designed to have the lowest possible weight while staying strong and light. Each gear is stamped with the tooth number for easy identification. The T2R PRO features an 84T 48-pitch spur gear.


Premium Ball-Bearings
• Fully ball-bearing equipped; 18 bearings in the kit
• High-speed, blue-sealed ball-bearings throughout the drivetrain for maximum efficiency
• Highest-tolerance, maximum-performance bearings
• Small-size ball-bearings used in steering blocks and uprights reduce unsprung weight
• Ball-bearings are degreased and lightly oiled with Aero Shell? Fluid 12 for maximum smoothness and long life


Suspension Holders
The T2R PRO uses the same smart suspension holders as the rest of the T2 platform. Aluminum inserts in the composite holders guarantee that geometry and setup will not change and will be retained even after hard impacts.

There are 3 different suspension composite holders that enable easy roll center setup. The standard suspension holder gives a 0mm roll center, while two eccentric suspension holders raise or lower the roll center by 0.75mm.

Smart XRAY geometry uses variable-thickness shims between the bulkheads and suspension holders to enable easy rear toe-in adjustment. You can also easily remove the shims to narrow the suspension, and then add wheel offset shims to reclaim track-width.


Hex Hubs
Ultra-strong wheel hex drive hubs are molded from ultra-hard composite material. These ultra-true hex hubs provide wobble-free wheel mounting. Optional aluminum offset wheel hexes are available (-0.75, 0mm, +0.75, +1.5mm).


Shock Pistons
XRAY keyed shock pistons can be used to make adjustable or non-adjustable shocks. Along with the 2-piece adjustable shock pistons, 3 different non-adjustable pistons are also included.


XRAY Racing Springs
The T2R PRO shocks are equipped with silver and gold racing springs optimized for T2R PRO handling. As with all other XRAY springs, these springs were manually measured and selected to guarantee precisely equal length and damping characteristics.


XRAY Selected Springs
For additional tuning, XRAY offers complete sets of ultimate shock springs. XRAY self-developed and manufactured ultimate racing springs are manually selected for maximum precision, equal length, and equal damping characteristics. Available separately or as ultimate sets (#308390 and #308380) along with the new line of black-coated, laser-engraved springs.


Body Posts
Beefy 6mm thick body posts are made from special composite material that provides maximum strength but sufficient flex to reduce body post breakage in hard impacts or roll overs. The body supports are rounded to have a better fit and provide better support to the car body.

For ultimate tuning and adjustment, XRAY offers optional body height adjustable body posts that allow independent front & rear body height adjustment by +1mm or +2mm.


Front Bumper
The compact front foam bumper is manufactured from lightweight, high-resilience foam. The impact-absorbing lower composite bumper and upper bumper holder are molded from rigid composite material to withstand hard impacts.

An optional stiffer foam bumper is available (#301223) as well as an optional graphite CNC-machined front upper bumper holder (#301213).


Adjustment Possibilities
The extensive and impressive range of adjustment possibilities includes: caster, camber, toe, anti-dive, anti-squat, ride height, downstops, track-width, roll center, Quick Roll Center™, wheelbase, Ackermann, belt-tension adjustment, chassis and top deck flex, 4 step adjustable shocks, and adjustable rear diff.


Chassis Balance
Chassis design focuses on balanced weight distribution and weight transfer. The chassis features pre-drilled holes for additional weights for optimum car balancing. Centerline holes are pre-drilled for easy balancing with the HUDY Chassis Balancing Tool #107880.


Premium HUDY Grease
The T2R PRO includes premium HUDY Diff grease.

HUDY Diff Grease is a high-performance, model racing car general-purpose silicone-based grease, formulated to provide extra protection against wear, corrosion, and water. HUDY Diff Grease is recommended for most types of rotating and moving parts in any RC car. This silicone grease is especially well-suited for use in ball differentials, axial (thrust) bearings, and in any other ball-bearings that require grease. Recommended for use in any heavy-duty application where high pressures or loads are present. This grease provides excellent protection against rust and corrosion while resisting water wash-out, making it particularly suitable for racing in wet conditions. The silicone grease operates within a large temperature range and will work in all extreme conditions up to and over 100°C.


Optional Battery Holder
Being a high-competition racing car, the T2R PRO uses tape to hold the batteries to the chassis to reduce unnecessary weight. HUDY Fiber-Reinforced Tape #107870 is recommended by the Team XRAY factory racing team for high-competition racing.

The chassis also features holes for an optional graphite battery strap for 6-cell battery pack (#306163) that features the XRAY Smart Battery Holder System™. A captured aluminum wheel enables you to easily secure the battery strap without clips. Easy, smart, quick.

The race-oriented XRAY battery holder was designed to ensure that it won't affect chassis tweak even if you tighten the capture wheel excessively.
